Mixity – XR Parklet
Virtual street furniture on (former) car parking places.

A parklet is a temporary installation placed on a car parking space instead of a vehicle, introducing a new use of the street: mixed mobility.
Mixity takes this idea further by making it possible to place various virtual modules. Because OpenXR web technology is used, no installation or download is required in advance — you can simply get started right away.
Tech stack: WebXR and HTML, so it can be used directly in a smartphone web browser, without download or registration. (Khronos OpenXR)
Mixity was created entirely with open-source tools and public (GIS) data sources, and continues to be maintained in this way, ensuring independence from big tech corporations.
The models are based on input from citizens and stakeholders gathered through co-creative workshops, and they visualize these ideas through 1:1 virtual views directly on site.
Models
Here, various parklet models are presented that can be selected and virtually placed on the marked parking space.
For the evaluation of the participation process, it is important that the ideas are rated with stars (and also shared and commented on). So please share your opinion! 🙂
